Complete Home Inspections

What Are Some Issues Frequently Found At Home Inspections?

Whether you are buying a home or selling a home, the inspection can be an intimidating step in the real estate process. Sellers want to get their homes sold without the need for costly repairs, and of course, buyers don’t want to learn that the home they love is riddled with flaws. At All-Pro Home Inspections, we have seen a lot of the same issues present at the more than 25,000 home inspections we have completed over the last 15 years. Let’s go through some of the flaws that we encounter in homes most frequently so that you can be prepared before your next home inspection.

Roof Issues

Homeowners can have roofing issues without even realizing it because they aren't always obvious. Whether the roof is near the end of its lifespan or has missing or damaged shingles from a recent storm, it could require minor repairs or a total replacement. We always check the roof at our complete home inspections.

Faulty Wiring

Electrical issues are concerning, and something you need to be especially aware of in older homes with outdated systems. Even though a home cannot pass or fail an inspection, our certified inspectors will make all parties aware of existing safety hazards within the home. Electrical repairs are something that cannot be delayed.

Environmental Problems

There are some environmental issues that could require costly repairs, or even make your home temporarily uninhabitable. All-Pro Home Inspections offers radon testing because Tennessee has higher than the national average of radon in homes. We also provide mold testing and termite inspections to help you determine other potential expensive repairs before you sign the contract.

Plumbing Issues

Homeowners could have leaking plumbing fixtures without knowing it. It's common for faucets and shower heads to have minor leaks, but they can typically be repaired for a small cost. The plumbing system might need to be completely replaced if it's an older home. Our inspection report will tell you what type of issues you will have to deal with.

HVAC Defects

It's not uncommon to see HVAC defects in homes where the heating and cooling system has not been properly maintained with routine maintenance. If you are purchasing a home, then you'll want to know if you should anticipate needing a whole new HVAC system in the near future.
